How do I create a meme?
Creating a meme is simple! Go to the Templates page, select your favorite template, add your text, and click "Export Meme" to download. The entire process takes less than 20 seconds!
How do I upload my own image?
On the Create page, click "Upload Your Image" or "Upload Image" button. You can drag and drop your image file or click to browse. We support JPG, PNG, GIF, and WebP formats up to 10MB.
How do I use AI caption suggestions?
When editing a template (not custom images), click the "Get AI Suggestions" button in the right sidebar. Our AI will analyze the template and generate 3 funny caption ideas for you. You can apply any suggestion with one click or edit them to match your style. Free users get 5 AI suggestions per day.
Do I need to create an account?
No! MemeForge works without any signup or account creation. Just visit the site and start creating. Your creation history is saved locally in your browser (using IndexedDB) so you can access your recent memes even without an account.
Are my images uploaded to your servers?
No! All meme creation happens entirely in your browser using HTML5 Canvas technology. Your custom images never leave your device. This means faster performance, better privacy, and no upload limits.
Can I use MemeForge on mobile?
Absolutely! MemeForge is fully responsive and works great on smartphones and tablets. The interface adapts to your screen size with touch-friendly controls. Create memes on the go, anywhere, anytime.
What image formats are supported?
MemeForge supports JPG, PNG, GIF, and WebP image formats. Maximum file size is 10MB. For best results, use images with good resolution and contrast.
Can I customize the text styling?
Yes! You have full control over text styling including font family (Impact, Arial, Comic Sans, and more), font size, text color, outline color, and outline thickness. Experiment to find the perfect look for your meme.
How do I save my work?
Every time you export a meme, it's automatically saved to your creation history (stored locally in your browser). Click the "History" button in the editor to view and reload your past creations. You can also manually save the exported PNG file to your device.
What keyboard shortcuts are available?
We support the following keyboard shortcuts for power users:
- Ctrl+S (Cmd+S on Mac) - Export your meme
- Ctrl+T (Cmd+T on Mac) - Focus on top text input for quick editing
- Esc - Deselect text on canvas
- Delete - Remove selected text from canvas
Why isn't my browser compatible?
MemeForge uses modern web technologies including HTML5 Canvas and ES6 JavaScript. We recommend using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. Internet Explorer is not supported.
How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
We'd love to hear from you! Email us at contact@quickmeme.io with your feedback, bug reports, or feature suggestions. We read every message and use your input to improve MemeForge.
Troubleshooting
Meme won't export?
Make sure the canvas has finished loading (you should see your image and text). Try refreshing the page if the issue persists.
Text looks blurry?
Increase the font size or adjust the outline thickness for better readability. High-contrast colors (white text with black outline) work best.
Image upload failing?
Check that your file is under 10MB and in a supported format (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP). Try converting or compressing your image if needed.
AI suggestions not working?
You may have reached your daily limit of 5 free AI suggestions. The limit resets every 24 hours. Alternatively, there may be a temporary service issue - try again in a few minutes.
